| Stir vermouth with ice in a mixing glass. Strain, discarding vermouth, to leave only a coating on the ice. Pour gin into mixing glass containing coated ice and stir. Finally strain contents of mixing glass into glass.
There are two versions of the origin of this cocktail
1. At the players club in New York City in the 1940s this drink was created for an American illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. The two white onions represent the white breasts of the women he drew.
2. The second theory is that it is named after the well endowed Gibson Girls - hence the two onions.
